Who is J.L. Toussaint?

J.L. Toussaint, aka Jen, is a fantasy romance author from Vermont who writes emotionally charged, slow burn love stories filled with action, humor, and heart. Her debut series, The Irinsbane Saga, begins with Hybrid, an epic tale of adventure, found family, and steamy, unforgettable romance.

Jen fell in love with fantasy and storytelling early on thanks to cinematic classics like Star Wars, The Dark Crystal, The Princess Bride, and Willow. Those films sparked her passion for creating stories that mix badass heroes, soul-stirring romance, fantastical worlds, and a touch of magic.

At twelve, she wrote her first novel—123 pages typed in WordPerfect while listening to Garbage on repeat—and knew she’d be an author someday. In 2021, she finally brought her dream to life, writing and designing Hybrid: Irinsbane Part I, the story that had lived in her imagination for over two decades.

Now, she’s preparing to release Polaris: Irinsbane Part II, the next heart-pounding, emotional installment of the Irinsbane Saga.

 

When she’s not writing, Jen enjoys tarot, astrology, and graphic design under her spiritual alter ego, A Violet Flame, which also inspired the name of her publishing imprint, A Violet Flame Publishing.
